To think of a new "new media" is very difficult, since what doesn't already exist? However something to possible improve or to expand is virtual reality. I think VR has great potential but slowly has been expanding. For example, last semester I took an environmental science class. With this class, one must take a lab course. Labs would consist of many experiments. Most of the time labs consisted of bean beetles, plants, spider diversity, and much more. I think VR would be a great way for us to virtual experience these labs. In a spider diversity lab, we had to identify what kind of spiders were in a specific environment via a word document. I think the virtual experience we be cool to see it, it is almost as if we would be in their habitat but also setting a boundary. When we did a bean beetle lab, we has actual been beetles to experiment on but it got very messy, real quick. VR would help in a way to eliminate this mess, students getting scared of touching the animal, and much more.

  2. I also agree VR will become more prevalent in the future. Your bean beetle lab is a perfect example as we will definitely see that type of application in school settings once VR technology and software become more accessible to the masses.

  3. Your suggestion of utilizing VR in a science lab sounds very interesting and makes me wish we had that kind of technology in school right now.
