We have seen new media foster creativity in many ways. Many would use different ways to create content. You could use the old fashion, write an article or blog about a certain topic. Others may create a video, mashups, gifs, or even pictures. Sometimes this creative content on new media may go viral. For example, "Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why?", many have created snippets of animated movies and TV shows with a song running over the snippet. The finished product would look like a music video. An example of a mashup is a clip from the show SpongeBob Square Pants with Crank That played over the clip. This mashup has been viewed more than seven million times. However, some may argue these creative content are a violation of intellectual property. What do you think, should these videos be protected under copyright law or should they be taken down immediately?
